Please join the Italian Lecture Series lecture titled "Fascist Woman, Delinquent Woman: The Case of Leonarda Cianciulli", a conversation with Stephanie Malia Hom (Associate Professor of Transnational Italian Studies in the Department of French and Italian at the University of California, UC Santa Barbara).
Stephanie writes and lectures on modern Italy and the Mediterranean, mobility studies, colonialism and imperialism, migration and detention, and tourism history and practice. She is the author of听Empire's Mobius Strip: Historical Echoes in Italy's Crisis of Migration听and Detention听(Cornell, 2019), which won the 2019 AAIS Book Prize (20th and 21st century), and听The Beautiful Country: Tourism and the Impossible State of Destination Italy听(Toronto, 2015). She is currently co-editing a volume with Dana Renga titled,听Crime Italian Style: Illegality and the Making of Italy, which aims to bring crime, broadly conceived, into the scholarship on making Italy and Italians.听
